More Quito
Today we went to see the changing of the guard at the presidential palace, which was a huge affair with horses and a marching band and the vice President waving at us. I'd already been to see a church before this and then decided to go on the teleferiqo up to around 4000m for a view of the city. We ended up walking around a bit as well, getting very out of breath!
Back in town we went for almuerzo - set lunch, with random soup, meat and rice and juice. All for $2! In the afternoon I decided to walk to the new town, but just ended up drinking polluted air and getting a bit lost. I found a church to sit in and look at a map and have successfully returned to the hostel for more soup for tea.
