BOILER

(Backblip) Back to the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site to visit Masson Mills which we had to ourselves. It was really sobering to see and begin to understand the awful conditions the operators worked in back in the early days of the Industrial Revolution. I took so many photos, but this shows one of the huge boilers along with the poignant photo showing its installation, with a note of those men who were killed at Ypres six years later.
We headed back to pack via a dairy selling ice cream made from the milk of their own Jersey herd, and then a beautiful tucked-away village nearby with a splendid cheese shop. A2 bought some local cheese to add to the meal she made for us using up all the food left over from the week.
