Canal wildlife.

This heron was really quite shy. Every time we got close, he or she would up and flap a hundred yards or so further along. Finally, he or she got fed up and flew across the canal rather than along it. 
As you can see, it has been a pleasant sunny day but is still cool, not really summer yet.
