When you are sure you've had enough

Himself and I have been entertaining ourselves this evening by giving ourselves electric shocks 

This is a portable pain reliever. 

I will wait to pass judgement 

When I was pregnant with Boy, the reading materials (not on line) were promoting TENS as the new and easy pain relief for labour 

I rented one.... I was not going to have medication: drugs nothing 

They advised you to wear it and test it to become accustomed to the sensation.  himself came home and laughed at me sitting with suckers on. 

I, wanting to share the whole pregnancy journey with him, insisted he should try it. Just to get a flavour 

We attached the electrodes to his hand and I switched on.  I pressed the button the wrong way and rather than increasing his dose gently. I went from 1-10 in 1 second 

His arm shot up into the air and fell to his side as quickly as I pulled it off him 

In the end I had everything. The TENS lasted for the first two hours, then the gas and air and then  the diamorphine, the the epidural.  

This one was not coming out without a fight
