It was sad to leave daughter S after spending six days with her while she took us around some of the places not far from where she lives in southern Bavaria.  We had experienced “summer” but this morning when we left our hotel below Hohenaschau Castle it was cool with mist and cloud right down on the mountains. The weather improved as we journeyed to Munich airport and by the time we reached Frankfurt to transfer for the flight to Edinburgh it was possible to see some of the landscape below.  The extra shows the Rhine as we took off from Frankfurt and the other is the Danube near Ulm last Wednesday after the dreadful floods last week
 
This morning engineers were trying to sort out the wifi which had not been working at the hotel so I am behind with blips but will try to catch up soon.
