Short-eared Owl

At the moment they are omnipresent - probably beauce of a combination of the need to feed young and the lack of darkenss - it is still pretty light at midnight currently.
This one was keen to be photographed perching close to the road. It was windy enough that it had to use its wings for balance - a cold wind too!
