Hiding in plain sight
I decided to try and get ahead of the forecast rain and headed for a local reserve. It was quiet and so much to see.
There was a group of keen birders looking out for a sedge warbler. I saw it too but didn’t get a shot.
No sign of woodpeckers today, but a cuckoo and several song thrushes were letting rip.
I managed to avoid the rain and spent a lovely hour or so just enjoying the variety and peaceful world.
Near to where I’d parked my car, I saw this adorable bee orchid. So vulnerable. So beautiful. (I’ve emailed a copy of this photo to the reserve, even though I’m sure they know about it. )
So much to see…….but we need to take time to look.
