Doctors Creek this morning

A beautiful clear sky greeted Maisie and me as we set out on our walk early this morning
The elusive Kotoku (White Heron) has been hanging around of late in Doctors Creek at the confluence with the Taylor River. Recently a lucky photographer captured some images of the Kotoku catching a water rat, dunking it several times until it drowned and then swallowing it whole. I envied that photographer!
It’s only eleven days until the shortest day… the winter solstice here in New Zealand. The year is flying by. I reckon time moves faster as we age.
