"good old days"

So during my late night car drive tour of the local area last night with a driver and back seat passenger tour guide, the one place I wanted to go back and see in daylight happened to be the place we ended up in this afternoon with William and Sarah's sister for company this time!

New Lanark is a quaint little place - an area of the Lanarkshire valley sort of frozen in time. It has been deemed a world heritage sight. The main attraction of this little area is the old mill buildings which to my surprise still had a fully functioning huge mill wheel which I stood mesmerised watching for a long time! So much power from a wooden wheel and to still be working all these years later, it goes to show that nothing we make today is built to last. These mills were!

And just like that it was time to say goodbye to Sarah and return to Dundee. Wimbledon 2013 awaits tomorrow! :)
