Reed Bunting

Overnight and the first part of the day was pouring rain and strong winds.  Not ideal weather for wildlife watching or walking so this afternoon we went to Great Yarmouth. We planned to do the South Quay historic walking trail.

We put on hats and coats (it felt like winter) and set off.  We were very disappointed.  There were some fine old buildings but they were surrounded with 1960s ugly architecture and the area appeared very run down too.  We did have a drive along the deserted sea front but didn't stay.

It developed into a lovely evening so we went for a walk on Ludham Marsh where we saw this reed bunting singing from a reed.  We also heard a cuckoo calling - the first of the year.
