Bookham

N does all our shopping so it is very rare for me to go into the village. I enjoyed the visit today, taking time to look in the shop windows and to see people. I should go more often.
After visiting the village I drove down to The Common. I had heard that sometimes one can hear a cuckoo on the Common, and not having heard a cuckoo for a few years I hoped to hear one today, but no such luck. They used to be quite common and we could hear them from our garden, but sadly no more.
