Dyrham New Herd
A trip down to Dyrham Park this afternoon in the hope of finding some of the new herd of Fallow Deer.
There are apparently only twenty four adults in a parkland or 240 acres - ten acres each, then. And, we are informed, they have a few fauns now are are therefore very nervous and are probably hiding in the nettles and you won't see any at all. Which is pretty much what they said last time, too.
In the end we found five, but not all in the one shot. I liked the way these chaps are stripping the foliage from the hazel. Nom nom nom...
