On a Vist to Akaroa

My youngest son took me over to Akaroa to help me sort out some stuff.

It is hard to show what damage as been done inside.. all is still so wet. They have a lot of dehumidifiers going though out the house. They hadn't opened the Wardrobe and it was full of water and sheets and blankets were soaked. Also more of my art stuff. I didn't think to look on Friday.

I wondered why the carpet was turning purple/blue colour in parts. My son knows a carpet layer and he said it was coming from the underlay.

My oldest son and his partner are taking me back to Akaroa on Tuesday. They are in Wanaka until Monday. The rest of the furniture has to be taken into the garage and things all packed up. So lots more to do.

Today all the bedding was removed and bought back to Christchurch. Some was damp so will have to be washed etc.

The worst job for me is the paperwork. With having dyslexia I had to list everything I want to claim for with all the details of costs etc. That's a worse night nightmare than anything else. And with still having my migraine isn't helping.

In this photo you can see the pipes that caused the troubles. They had them
blocked off with the rubbish bins to stop anyone falling in the hole. It is on a steep slope so just held the phone over the bins. You can see the corner of my house.
