Out this morning with a the pink bin bags and a litter picker to clear the main road into the village which is currently closed due to Anglian Water installing new strategic distribution mains water pipes.
One of the benefits of peering into the verges to spot the detritus the great unwashed assume is acceptable to be chucked out of their car windows is that occasionally you spot something like this.
Bee orchids are protected like all wild flowers but are susceptible to the wrong sort of disturbance and need our help.
A little further down the road we found a really large outcrop on an area that AW are using as a place to leave equipment and the bee orchids have been trampled underfoot.
Needless to say I shall be having a word with the senior person on site tomorrow morning to ask them what they are going to do about it.
