Junkyard Cats Jazz Band at the Carillon

Len was all for going so we got the camp chairs ready, put on our coats because it was chilly and got into the car to drive to Queen's Park in Loughborough. We were glad we did. The jazz band was very joyful and we thoroughly enjoyed the concert.

Basil has his coat on too as it's not long since he's been groomed and he does tend to shiver. Len fetched coffee and magnums from the café. My little scooter carried me safely from the car park. It really doesn't feel so different from my bigger scooter.

By the end of the concert, patches of blue sky had appeared and it felt distinctly warmer in the sun. A very cheering afternoon. Extra shows some of the musicians who paraded round the bandstand. You couldn't miss the tuba player!

The flower beds surrounding the bandstand have been replanted with petunias and pink salvia, but only the beds around the bandstand so far.

Today was noteworthy for the discovery of Dr Michael Mosley's body on the Greek island of Symi.
