Alabama
I was entertained by a song thrush at 04:10 am this morning delightful!
I am planning on entering a local triathlon and so this morning I planned on riding to and from the local ParkRun and then adding a swim recovery session later on in the day.
After sorting out which bike I would be able to use off I went and was greeted by a beautiful sunny day.
One lap to find my running (jogging) legs and off we went.
Half an hour later I had completed my first non stop 5 k run since my accident.
After a welcome fika with some kind ladies who invited me to join them I enjoyed a pleasant cycle over to the railway station and the Tarka trail. A young lady was struggling with a huge rucksack and after a brief conversation she told me that she had been travelling for six days from Minehead on her journey to complete the south west coast path finishing in Pool
I bought her a black coffee and we swapped some of our life experiences together over a shared flapjack in glorious sunshine and with some other friends who joined us.
Alabama was her name and a wonderful example of a young Christian woman she is.
My friend Chris and I cycled along the trail to Torrington where he did a turn around and I rode on up to the town and around a few lanes to enjoy the weather.
Back to Amadeus for a quick change and 20 lengths of the pool before ordering a cheeky Far Eastern takeaway.
I collected it on route to a client and good friend who needed some assistance with a bike fit where I was welcomed to join with them at the table and re stock my calories.
On return to Amadeus the camp site owner introduced me to some ladies who were stopping in one of the luxury chalets here, incredibly they had come from the same location where I was born and went to the same school.
I was ready for some shut eye after a day full of activity and social interaction and in a flash I was asleep.
