The brass section

Out on a no 37 bus to Roslin for the 2nd Saturday Roslin to Rosewell circular walk. Met the group at the cafe in Roslin; 7 of us and one dog. A very pleasant walk mainly on former colliery railway paths. Several big fields had already had a close cut of grass for sileage; some of the winter barley is far enough on to show the wind in waves across the ears. Sunshine, cool west wind, occasional clouds and cloud shadows on the hills, no rain.

Bus journey back took a lot longer than the trip out, as is common for Saturday afternoons. Princes Street had people lining up for trams heading to Murrayfield for the Swift event.

Music and a brass band with 4 pipers in the evening at the Beating Retreat at the Royal Scots Club .. we didn't dine, just enjoyed the short performance of marching and music. Last year 's blip of the rehearsal.
