Scenes from our morning at church

As I mentioned on Thursday, we were playing handbells this morning for the introit, accompanied by Tom on the organ. We played fairly well in practice, but unfortunately got off to a shaky start during the service. Poor Roger, in particular, got lost and was really struggling, and virtually gave up playing in the end, leaving him feeling rather depressed for the rest of the day. I did my best to cheer him up, pointing out that we all have our different strengths and weaknesses, and usually he does OK when he has a decent time to practice, but he’d only seen this for the first time on Thursday!
