LA BELLA VITA

Orchid

Last minute blip. This orchid was a prezzie a couple of years ago. Had two stems trained round a hoop. Sadly only one came emerged this year. Very pretty and new bids emerging.

Our Ukranian friends are back (from their usual over-winter at home in Toronto). We met for a coffee at Da Nunzio, and then they came back to enjoy a posh Italian Amarone Appassimento wine we were given a few days ago.

"Appassimento translates to “fading” or “withering” in Italian and refers to a winemaking process where dried grapes, instead of fresh grapes, are fermented. When winemakers use the appassimento process, they create wines that are full-bodied and packed with intense fruit, balanced acidity and sometimes sweetness"

Bedtime. Sleep well
