That Will Do!

Newhaven Lighthouse

Between venues for holiday shopping we took a break in Newhaven, mainly to look at some Facebook Street Bounty items behind the fish market (marble tabletops, since you ask but unfortunately wayyy too heavy to lift). So we had a wander by the harbour to take a photo of the lighthouse - much seen on Blip - but where a Hi-Vized steward told us 'not to take photos of the people on the tender' (that orange boat in the foreground) but that the 'big boat is on the Forth, just round the corner'.

Big Boat? Are we talking Queen Mary? A Tall Ship? We had to see. Following the path round to the East there became a view of it - a cruise ship Viking Saturn, lying way out on the water. Too far for any decent photo from my little phone, anyway (see extra). Another tender battled its way, bumping across foam-topped waves coming at a diagonal, to the harbour to deposit another load of visitors to occupy one more of the coaches lined up in the carpark and be whisked away.

Which was our cue to jump back in the car and head off for more perusal of holiday gear, with moderate satisfaction and success; I may not frighten the horses, but they will be better shod than me - oh, to have made-to-measure footwear.
