Having a Dave Day

The day revolved around a lunchtime BBQ, D’s way of saying goodbye after managing the holiday park here. He will be missed.

In the afternoon I decided to go to Foulshaw Moss, and to head there before all the bikers left their rendezvous point at Crooklands. I was amazed to see so many people lining my route, so when I parked at the Moss I walked back up the access road where a group of people had gathered. We’re all having a Dave Day.

Who knew that a procession of bikers could be so moving. I joined in the waving. I didn’t stay to watch all 20,000 pass, this procession of bikers was going to take a long time. No point in attempting to leave the Moss until they had all gone through. The Moss was quiet - apart from the sound of peeping horns.
