Abbotsford House.

We headed to Abbotsford House near Melrose this morning. Initially, we only walked around the garden and didn’t go inside the house as we have Islay with us. However, we discovered that we had been charged for the house as well, so decided to take it in turns to go around inside.

It’s a really beautiful house, inside and out with much of Sir Walter Scott’s possessions still in situ, including over 6000 books. My favourite room is in the extra- a fantastic chandelier and beautiful wallpaper.

We then went to Melrose for a little wander, then onto Kelso.
