A possible buzzard

A Buzzard, maybe?
From a Distance.  But not in
a Bette Midler way.

So Ben's bird obsession has rather grabbed me too.  Today we downloaded an app called Merlin that listens for the songs or calls and tells you what you might be hearing.  It's been great fun.  It told me there was a Goldfinch nearby, so I looked and there was :-) and the same for a Chaffinch and Swifts and all sorts.  There were allegedly Reed Buntings and White Wagtails in the hedges but they were elusive. 
This possible Buzzard wasn't chatty so it didn't ping on the app but I tried to identify it after the fact.  Who knows.. but I'm quite enjoying it all.  The House Martins are still my favourite, they just look like they're having so much fun and they're so distinctive I can identify them without an app :-D
Mr KCNQ2Haiku did a crazy big cycle sportive thing, so he was out most of the morning, Ben and Leo and I pottered around waving my phone at bird song and then baked some cookies.  He's needed a lot of attention but the day has remained mainly calm.
