Stranded

G's parents came for a visit today, so we took them on a trip on the local Ferry and spent a lovely couple of hours across the water in Rowhedge having lunch and a wander round with ice creams. Lots of people were swimming in the river; something I've always been too scared to do due to tales of undercurrents and fear of fish. I think I have to give it a go though so it's going on my list of things to do. Unfortunately when we went to get the return ferry, the times on the Wiv side were incorrect and we missed the last boat! In the peak heat of the sun, and in massively inappropriate footwear, we made the 2 mile riverside walk to Hythe where we caved and got a taxi instead of walking the remaining 2 miles home. The taxi did mean that we got back mid-second set of Murray's Wimbledon match and got the see the remainder of the nail biting game. It was brilliant he won, but I wish the press would stop referring to it as the 'first British Wimbledon win in 77 years'.... do the FOUR women winners post-Fred Perry not count?!?!
