My topsy-turvy life

Building anticipation

It's been a while since the last time but this morning was back to the early start to get to Manchester for half past seven for dilatation #19.

Today we were straight into the Theatres waiting area and Owen was really good, building his new lego and waiting patiently. He understands a lot more now he's that bit older although he got a bit worked up when it came to actually going down to surgery, and really didn't want the mask on.

We then had the usual anxious wait, even though it's as routine as can be, before speaking to his surgeon (there's a bit more inflammation so going to try an alternative medication) and going through to recovery. He was OK to when we first went through but still very tired and didn't want to eat anything at first and just wanted to go home, not accepting that he had to eat and drink before we'd be discharged. He did eventually calm down and eat something, quickly getting back to his usual self.

We were even out and home in time to get to a birthday party at Little Rascals. I have no idea how he keeps going sometimes.
