Who Are You

A characterisation workshop at The Lancaster Grand tonight, led by my friend David. Using John Godber’s excellent play “Bouncers” (where four actors play four characters who, in turn, portray multiple other characters) as a starting point, we were encouraged to think of a character and then try and imagine how that character would play another character, whilst still letting the elements of the original character come through.
Confused? I certainly was, until we started running the scenes. Then it all began to make sense and I came away from the workshop with a much better understanding of how characters can be created and developed.
