... though, If you've been following this journal for many years, you will almost certainly have met my David Austin rose before. This is the first bud to open this year, with two more ready to unfold any day now.

Today is our son's birthday and we've exchanged a few texts and photos between Spain and home. Sounds as though they're having a lovely week away. 

Our visitors left today. It feels strange to be back just the two of us again.
