If That Is What They Throw......

No wonder the gates were put up!

Lots of cakes for Jupiter this morning.
Between the gates being closed (luckily I have the password) and Stroppy in the extras refusing to get off the road ...... until a member of staff came along and persuaded him to move along... it took longer to get from the road to the cafe.
When we had finished delivering the cake Stoppy turned up again.
But I was in a position where I could get out and take some better pictures........ 5 pictures HERE.

When we got home I went into the garage and made a start on the dish for the lady across the road.
It went better than I expected if I am honest. I got the base shaped and sanded without much grief at all. It is 16" in diameter (a bit over 40cm I think). It is a long time I have done something that size and had to turn the drive head  so there was enough space for the piece to spin, but I hadn't realised that it was so many years as the bench with my small lathe wasn't there the last time and I have had it for a fair number of years now.
If I want to do anything bigger (I can go up to 3' ...nearly 1m) I am going to have to rearrange everything in the garage .... which is probably something I should do anyway.

We were over at The Larder shortly before 12 noon to help with packing the 750 food bags for the Gala Day tomorrow.
It was meant to take 1-2 hours.
After just over 3 hours I had to take SWMBO home ....... after we had brought her round from her fainting session.
It didn't half give a couple of the younger staff members a fright.
I think it was brought on by being on her feet for over 3 hours and it being rather warm in the building.
I put her straight to bed and I think my next challenge will be to get her to eat something.
