Lady’s Slipper Orchid

… so rare in Switzerland that it is not only protected but its locations are closely guarded secrets. I was only shown this location because another member of the Swiss Naturalist Photography Association was kind enough to take me there 3 years ago. Today it was not easy to get there though as the path had partly fallen into the raging river (extra) so I had to negotiate an off-piste route! I also saw the huge chick of the Bearded Vulture (poor photo of the chick in extra, half a kilometer away) in the same valley, and had a brief sighting of one of its parents. 

Preston has had a quiet day, mainly sleeping on my bed apparently! Still he got up there and never mind Mum’s cat allergy which she has just discovered officially … oh no!
