On D Day

Up at 3.30 and in the departure lounge by 4.45 am. Then remembered If forgotten my hat, again. Another new one but a bit more expensive than H&M's bargain in December.  Good flight down to London, on a busy plane with the inevitable early morning ATC delays but amazing views flying over central London of the H of P and the Eye and I could almost pick out Commercial St.

Had my couple of hours in the very busy lounge reading my book and then a wait v for the Chania flight. T5 is so busy these days, years since I've been here. It might have been 2013 when I flew back on MAS.

The woman sitting next to me had been on the Edinburgh flight. From Tassie, staying with family in Porty and she swims there in the sea every morning. Wonder if she ever bumped into Lady F? She was off on a swim trek  holiday in Crete.

I was out of the airport fairly quickly and at the Mistral by 6.30. Unpacked, shower, changed, then bar and dinner. Too much food, then bed.

Watched some of the D Day commemorations in T5. Pilot said we'd fly over Normandy but from my side I could only see further north, Dieppe and St Valery sur Somme, where I've been.
