Northleach Beacon

A latish blip as we've been to the D-Day commemorative event in Northleach this evening. There was a short service by the war memorial during which a peace lantern was lit. This was then carried though to the churchyard and used to light the beacon at 9.15 pm. Not quite precisely at 9.15 as there were a few technical hitches which required a guy with a step ladder to intervene and light the beacon with some matches. It was a nice event though with a sing song at the end - Keep The Home Fores Burning, The White Cliffs Of Dover and We'll Meet Again.

I took over 150 photos, most of which will be ditched. There are a couple of extras though.

In other news I ordered another new car this afternoon so I've got two on the go now. I found a dealer (thank you hildasrose) who had a cancelled order in the model we were after, which should come in well before the one I ordered back in March. I hope we don't end up with two. That would be difficult.

Also the new prospective gardener came to see us just after lunch. We liked him so will now wait to see what sort of plan and costs he comes up with.
