Frauenalb Monastery Ruins

An interesting story about the former monastery :

The nuns had to leave their beloved home in the quiet valley and said goodbye to the church and convent in tears. Abbess Viktoria von Wrede, however, according to tradition, turned around once again on the threshold of the monastery gate when she moved out and hurled a curse into the deserted rooms.
Misfortune and conflagrations were to befall all those who now desecrated the consecrated place with their earthly deeds. Flames were to destroy their plants and businesses in the desecrated rooms. Yes. even the stones that would be broken out of the ruins would carry on the burning curse in every place and for all time.
After three fires, all that remains of the monastery with its magnificent double-towered Baroque church is an extensive, sad ruin. All mills, workshops, stables and barns have burned down.
