Where were you
When Andy Murray won Wimbledon. Well I was sitting in the North Terminal of Gatwick Airport waiting for a flight back to Aberdeen with my dearest and also my brother, his wife and my mum who were flying back to Inverness. It was 31 degrees outside but 40 degrees on the centre court.
I reguarly hear people and sportsmen and woman harp on about how hard they have it and how much they sacrifice for their sport but I cannot begin to imagine what Murray and his opponent had to go through. To me this was true sportsmen being pushed to the absolute limit both mentaly and physically.
I think sportsmen like footballers who earn astronomic amounts of money should learn something from Andy Murray and just be happy with what they have for what do they truly sacrifice.
P.S The sound in the terminal when he won was deafening. I just wonder how many planes were missed because of this.
