Daddy Sparrow collecting soft material for lining a nest. Apparently they raise up to three broods from April to August. I think these are feathers from a Stock Dove, there were several scattered around the garden this morning so no doubt there will be one less to pick up the sunflower hearts that the finches discard.
I finished cutting back the river bank this afternoon, that should free up some time now to start cutting the hedges, sigh. There's no rest for the wicked.
