Poolside

This lovely magpie  visited the garden today and found the pond. We have created a pebble shelf, sloping down into the water and it is proving popular with the wildlife.

 Not only do the birds appreciate it, but many insects sit on the water edge, safely taking a drink. The fish themselves seem to love flitting around in the shallow pebble beds, perhaps it seems more like their natural environment.
