Communication Breakdown

When I visited my sister in hospital yesterday, she thrust her phone and charger into my hands, saying that it didn’t work and could I sort it. After checking with the ward staff, they said it didn’t seem to be holding a charge, although the charger was definitely working - as confirmed by the PAT test sticker on it.
I had a look at it today and discovered there is no problem with the battery - it is fully charged - but the phone is just dead and won’t turn on. And there, my technical expertise ends. Having discovered that a replacement handset of the same model can be had for under £20, I see no point in wasting any more time trying to fix it and will just get a new one and swap her SIM card into it. Sorted.
After only having a few hours sleep due to last night’s late return home, I wasn’t looking forward to this morning’s PT session. But it wasn’t too bad - I’m starting a new gym programme so there were some new exercises to deal with - and I felt energised enough to tackle the rest of the day afterwards.
But I don’t think I’ll be late out of bed tonight!
