How does everyone do it?

Ottawacker Jr completed his final week off school sick, and the translation proved to be the gift that kept on giving. Meanwhile, having decided I am perhaps the worst blipper on this platform, I had a quick think about whether or not keeping this photoblog going worth stressing out about. The problem is not the blog – or even, I suppose, the taking of photos – but more the fact that my day-to-day life here in Ottawa is not very interesting. And that, it has to be said, is putting it mildly. I mean, it’s all routine. In between pics of the cats, the garden, football fields, appointments, there is very little of “life” going on. As much as I want to blame Ottawa – and, let’s face it, it is not the most interesting place in the world – the problem is me. A visit to the Shawarma Palace ranks as a major outing. And that was yesterday. So, this raised another question. How the hell does everyone else manage it? How do other people turn the mundane into a(n in)valuable sharing experience?

Meanwhile, I petted the cats, picked up the tissues from a snot-ridden boy, did 2,000 words of translation, made dinner, did the laundry, let Ottawacker Jr’s coaches know he might not be available for Sunday’s big “Icebreaker” tournament, watered the plants, and followed up about my doctor’s appointment next week.
