A new bar was opening in town this evening and had booked one of our better local bands to perform for the event. Most of the members of this band are also in another line-up, but I much prefer this group. The difference is the lead singer, this one is young, talented and unpretentious and the other one is none of the above. I wouldn't normally be interested in the opening night of a bar above street level in the High Street, I much prefer an honest-to-goodness traditional pub with real beer, but I like this band as well as the friends who wanted to try it out and so I went along. It was a great night despite the new not-my-style setting. The toilet doors are painted with blackboard paint and have Gents and Women written on then in chalk, illustrated with stick figures – nice touch.
Part-way through the first set the front man in this band hopped off the stage to pop into the Gents leaving the rest of the band to extend the instrumental section. Very funny!
Apologies for the poor quality, the lighting left a great deal to be desired.
