Warkworth Castle

Today was a different kind of day. It started to rain around 9 am and didn't stop until mid afternoon. Marty returned after lunch having had an enjoyable few days away.

I didn't feel like going too far today so decided on Warkworth. Now that Marty was back, Marian was able to come out with me, the first time she's been away from the house for nearly a week. We parked in the square of the beautiful old town and followed the River Coquet down and around the edge of the town before coming back up a lane into the town again. I left Marian there and walked into the castle grounds taking pictures as I saw them.

The one I liked best was the view up Castle Street to the castle but I've added an extra of one from further down the side path. The last time I took photographs here the daffodils were in bloom all over the mound below the castle. That's a lovely sight!
