Drake Goosander

I was cycling by the Peedie Sea in Kirkwall and noticed a large number of sand martins, so I stopped to try and count them. There were a few house martins and swallows with them and they were all difficult to count as they swooped around. Then they all seemed to disappear. I thought 'raptor' and looked up, and there was a hobby circling. One was seen nearby last week, so maybe the same bird. It made a swoop or two at the martins then drifted off. No usable photo, unfortunately. They're much more a southern England than northern Scotland species, though I have seen a couple here over the years. The drake goosander was easier to photo.
