In the Field

Finally, a mostly sunny day - warm, but not too hot. So I tried to get the very overgrown garden into a little more shape. The result was the usual one - a full compost bin, but no visible difference in the garden itself. And I am worried about one of our raised beds, which seems to have something living in it. Every morning for a week or so, I needed to fill in some big holes in between the tomato plants, They look like the entrances to a burrow. I hope it's not rats living in there. Strangely, our cats don't show the slightest interest in it.

In the afternoon, P and I went for a walk together, to the farm shop and back. They didn't have P's favourite organic Maultaschen (a fresh, filled pasta dish), but we found other lovely produce. Not only will there be a fresh salad for dinner, I'll also have the first cherries of the season as my dessert.

Along the way, I spotted these poppies in the wildflower field.
