Sgwarnog: In the Field

Dream

I pass this mural each time I walk between the station and my work in Leeds.

Rob Burrow, who died on Sunday, aged 41, was a major sporting figure in the city. The last few years of his life were spent campaigning and fundraising for motor neurone disease, following his diagnosis in 2019. His Guardian obituary outlines the achievements of his life.

This is a pernicious disease, which I’ve witnessed the effects of at close hand through it’s impact on my friend, colleague and manager Nigel Lindsey, who I’ve mentioned in this journal previously

Burrow dared to dream that a cure could be found, and fundraised to that end, to the end. An inspirational figure.
