Eerie Sky
This evening, after I had just finished an hour's watering trees and flower pots, a major storm descended out of nowhere. At first there were the winds - I don't know what speed they would have been but they were very strong. They were hitting my motorhome side on and since I am the first one in the row I took the brunt. It was quite scary. Even though I knew it was unlikely, I was afraid of the winds tipping me over.
Then the rains came.
And then, at about 9pm, this incredible sky show began. I guess the sun hadn't quite set and it was shining from behind all the low cloud. An eerie pale gold shimmer enveloped everything, which I have tried to capture here. For the next half hour it changed minute by minute as the clouds banked and rolled. I took a zillion pictures but I couldn't really do it justice.
Eventually the skies cleared a little and the clouds turned pink and an enormous rainbow rose out of the dark depths of the canyon.
What an evening!!!
