Brookside and Big Creek Reservations

A one hour shift at Brookside then another at the Brooklyn end of Big Creek Reservation .  (Trivia:  John M. Coyne was Brooklyn, OH mayor from 1948-2000, the longest consecutive mayoral service in U.S. history).  Brookside has the oldest (and locally famous) baseball fields in the city.  A missed MM challenge opportunity.

My first time out with DR who picks up garbage as we hike. It's amazing what we came across.  Lots of candy wrappers and junk food bags.  Some disturbing items I won't mention. In the extra, two items that were a bit startling, considering their location.  The lawn chair may have washed downstream, or someone left it there after fishing.  The large lump of beef chuck (pot roast) on the other hand, looked pretty fresh, sitting in the woods near the meadow.  We couldn't fathom what someone was trying to attract with a hunk of meat like that!  Yuck!  It had to be placed there intentionally.
