KINGFISHER Halcyon sancta

Kingfisher with Crab: The light was a bit against me for this shot - But I couldnt get to the other side without getting a wet bum !! I got that on our last OBBC outing last Friday !!
At this time of year the Kingfishers are feeding primarily on crabs - the lizards and grass-hoppers having hibernated for the winter. - well at least not coming out in the weak sunlight. I watched this bird for a while and it regergitated this crab and left it behind. They do a bit of regergitation - not sure why?? tell if you know please
