Ephesians 2:8-10, Part 2

We gathered at FBC under overcast skies, but less humidity than we have been experiencing lately.  We were grateful for that and many other things as we began our service with a congregational song of praise which was followed by the welcome from McGinty.  During his welcome, McGinty gave us a chance to recognize and honor  members of our congregation who participate in a Southern Baptist ministry called Disaster Relief.  The choir, orchestra and all our dedicated accompanists followed the recognition with a song expressing our trust in and dependence on God during uncertain times called "When I Don't Know What To Do"  with Gabe as soloist and the choir singing backup.  After the congregation sang a few more songs, it was time for Part Two of last week's sermon.  Last week, we concentrated on verses 8 and 9, so this week was the time to explore verse 10, which tells us that when we have been saved by grace through faith in Jesus, we are not saved to rest on our laurels and be proud of what we have done for God or to be discouraged because we can never repay God for our salvation no matter how many good things we do.  We are saved by God's grace to do good works that point people to Him.  My favorite thing that Pastor Wes said about the good works we do was that the good works are not the seeds of our salvation, but the fruit of our salvation.  He had many other wise things to say about all this, which you can find on the Live-stream.  Looking forward to a busy and productive week at FBC.  Are you involved with Sports Camp where children come to play games and learn about Jesus?  If you are, I'll be praying for you and if you aren't, you can pray for the children and for all the workers it takes to have this 3-day event!
