Life in Sunny Dubai

Slowly but surely

Wow. The memorial service lasted 90 minutes, so I didn't get to bed until 3 AM. The day required a leisurely start. G did bacon butties for breakfast, and I finally got the ironing to a level that won't spoil my free time! It's taken a lot of determination! Plans made yesterday changed, and I found myself with time to tackle a few more set-up items on the new TV. I finally connected it to WiFi (it's on a wired LAN connection for better speed/less lag). I can now screencast pictures from my phone.

I also (finally) got to watch the 4K videos I create on a 4K TV! I can't believe I've waited a month to do that. The excitement of that paled when compared to retrieving my newly acquired Praise Him on the Violin CD, which came from New York! I put it into the stereo as soon as I arrived home with it, but the player wouldn't play it. It wouldn't spit it out either, so I've had to resort to other ways to play music. Today, I resolved to create my video of this album which I love so much, but first, I had to get the disc. I couldn't believe it when, after ten days, the player ejected it! A portable CD player which gets loaded manually has been ordered to prevent future mishaps!

I'm glad I took a few pictures of the flame tree while the lighting was good. The complex red flowers are now appearing on our side. :))
