NZ Spring 2024

I'm mosque'd out!

Today started with Hagia Sophia a large decorative Mosque that used to be an Orthodox Christian church and a museum before becoming a mosque. Quite a significant build considering when the did it.

From here we went into the Blue Mosque whose correct name is Sultan Ahmed Mosque where I have been surprised at being able to freely take pictures in both buildings.

The main Blip is of the dome in Hagia Sophia, the first Extra is the prayer mat which we were not allowed onto.
The second Extra is the dome of Sultan Ahmed Mosque and the blue marble can be seen where it gets its Blue Mosque name, the third Blip is the prayer mat which we were on although bartered off from the those praying the stained glass windows were impressive.
The fourth Extra was taken in the "Egyptian Bazaar" with spices, dates and Turkish Delight along with many other items.
