Sgwarnog: In the Field

Mown

The deep pasture of a week ago has been mown, which gives an opportunity for a striped variation on the setting for my Two Trees.

The mowing had also caught the attention of Red Kites (extra), and I did see one land, presumably drawn to some carrion. The local crows were doing their best to chase them off.

Despite it being a sunny afternoon it was quiet for butterflies. I’m still waiting on my first Wall and Small Heath of the year, and had chosen a route to go through their usual territory, but nothing yet. I did see single Large White, Green-veined White, Orange-tip and Peacock.
