Early Bath

A flash of yellow on the far side of the ephemeral pond caught my eye. I haven't seen any goldfinches yet this year, but this was unmistakeable. What surprised me was when he flew down to the water and started to take a bath. He repeated this several times.

Fair warning, I removed an errant twig in the foreground which was distracting. Won't be winning any awards.
